If you had one word to describe October what would it be? Most people associate the month of October with their favorite holiday, Halloween! A popular activity for Utahns during this month is visiting haunted houses. Most haunted houses are only open during the month of October, so you better start planning on which ones you want to visit. To help out, we have compiled a list of popular haunts throughout Utah.
Haunted Hollow – Ogden, UT
The Haunted Hollow offers a different haunted experience other than the typical indoor setting. Instead, it’s an outdoor haunted attraction that makes you feel like you are walking through a real forest. Many people say that the ambiance is great and the live performers are fantastic. If you do plan to visit the forest, make sure you dress warm because the majority of the path is outdoors.
Strangling Brothers Haunted Circus –American Fork, UT
The theme of this haunted attraction is exactly in the name–a haunted circus. With many murderous clowns lurking around, this year is a bit different with their latest killer clown addition: IT. If you don’t know what “IT” is, it’s the newest scary movie that features an evil demon posing as a child-killing clown. The Strangling Brother’s Haunted Circus is the place to visit if you’re ready for some killer clowns.
Fear Factory – Salt Lake City, UT
Before the property was acquired in 2010, a cement factory used to be in its place in the late 1800’s. This cement factory had one major fatal accident and since that day, the frequency of accidents increased. It has been told that this location is a paranormal hotspot and that the factory was abandoned for a reason. Today, it is now known as the Fear Factory on 666 W. 800 S. in Salt Lake City. Enter at your own risk.
Asylum 49 –Tooele, UT
Asylum 49 is Utah’s first full-contact haunted attraction located in the Old Tooele Hospital. Full contact means you can be touched, grabbed, separated from your group, detained in small dark areas, and strapped to a metal bed. The actors can touch you, but you can’t touch them. Watch this video if you dare. If you can’t handle this rule they say you shouldn’t come in. Simple as that.
So, which haunted houses will you be enjoying this fall? All of us here at Larry H. Miller Lexus Lindon hope you get the chance to visit some of these local haunted houses and hope you have a fun and safe Halloween. As always, we are here to assist you with any vehicle service needs so the only terror you feel this season is at the spooky attractions you attend.
