Three Summer Road Trip Ideas For You and Your Lexus

With summer in full swing, you might be scrambling to plan an epic summer road trip. Whether it’s just you and a friend or you and your whole family, traveling in your Lexus is the best way to go. Lucky for you, we have three recommended places you should check out. Consider putting these destinations in your GPS and adding them to your bucket list of places to visit this season.

Zion National Park
For many out of staters, Zion National Park is on the top of their list. For locals, this destination is usually on their lists too just because there are so many things you can’t do in one day. What makes Zion National Park so popular is the nature of what you can see and do there. The park offers hiking, camping, sightseeing, and so much more. Stop by to see the beautiful red sandstone cliffs or take a much-needed hike through the slot canyons.

Maroon Bells
Rumored to be one of the most-photographed peaks in Aspen, the Maroon Bells is an amazing place to camp while you’re visiting Colorado. There are three camping areas: Silver Bell, Silver Bar, and Silver Queen, along with 12 campsites. It is a very popular place to visit, and it offers beautiful scenery, several hikes, and overall is a great place to just relax. Plan your next car camping trip, and make sure to book a spot soon.

Bryce Canyon
Hoodoos! That’s what this national park is known for. If you’ve never been to Bryce Canyon, you’re in for a treat—this park is unlike anything you’ve ever seen. Hoodoos are the pillars of rock that were created by erosion and make up the landscape at Bryce Canyon. When you travel to this destination and venture inside the canyon, you’ll be in awe while you walk around and wonder how these formations were made. Summer is a great to time to visit, but make sure you’re ready for the heat and pack enough water.

Now that you’ve had some help coming up with ideas for your next road trip, it’s time to decide how you’ll get there. Is your Lexus up for the trip? Does it need some maintenance? Are you looking to upgrade and find a new adventure companion? Whatever it is, Larry H. Miller Lexus of Lindon has you covered. Stop by for a summer inspection or schedule a time to test drive a new vehicle. We want to make sure you and your Lexus are ready for summer!

Drive Safer in Your Lexus With These Car Safety Tips

Did you know June is National Safety Month? It is focused on creating awareness to help reduce injury and injury of others in your home, in your car, and everywhere else. Vehicle safety is a big deal. Many people are injured every day from car accidents, and a lot of these are preventable. By educating people and having safer drivers on the road, we help contribute to a safer environment. We want to share some tips on how you can be safe on the road—please read our car safety tips to ensure a safer journey to and from your destinations.

1.     Always wear your seatbelt. As the campaigns says, “Click it or Ticket.” Wear your seatbelt or get a ticket. Seat belts have been proven to save lives. So, take a quick second and make it a habit to strap yourself in.

2.     Kids should always ride in the backseat. If you have kids younger than 12, they should ride in the backseat because the passenger airbag can seriously harm a small child.

3.     Distractions. Texting, eating, and anything that distracts you from the road is considered a distraction. Don’t text while driving. Eat before driving to or after driving to your destination, and make focused driving your number one priority. The more focused you are, the easier it is to avoid accidents.

4.     Speeding. Many people speed because they are in a hurry. Slow down and give yourself ample time to get to your destination. It’s not worth putting yourself and others in danger by trying to save a few minutes.

5.     Don’t drink and drive. Driving under the influence is extremely dangerous and illegal. Never think that you are okay to drive after drinking—always assign a designated driver when going out or call a cab. Don’t do it, and don’t let others around you do it either.

While the number one way to be safe is to be aware and alert of dangers around you, there are also vehicles that come equipped with advanced safety features that are very helpful. Our Lexus vehicles have many features that are convenient for your car ride, including Blind Spot Monitoring, Panoramic View Monitors, backup cameras, and more. Stop by Larry H.
