The sun has been setting earlier and earlier, the days are turning windy and chilled, and there’s a slight smell of pumpkin and cider in the air. Fall is nearly here and we are closer to this amazing season every single day. Utah is gorgeous in every season but it’s especially magical in the fall. With the changing leaves in the mountains and an endless amount of local activities for the whole family, we’ve got your perfect fall itinerary planned out for you.
We’ve found something for everyone to do. Check out our five favorite Utah County activities for fall:
Football Season
What’s better than getting cozy on the bleachers during a BYU home game? You get to spend time with your community of fellow fans and cheer on our favorite boys. We like to go on chilly nights and enjoy a hot chocolate while we watch the action on the field. Football season is just getting started so be sure to get your tickets to the next home game.
Get Scared Silly
Believe it or not, Utah County has some of the best haunted houses in the state! The Haunted Forest in American Fork is open weekends until October 28 and is Utah’s largest haunted attraction. Want to take a step up in your hunt for fear? American Fork is also home to Strangling Brothers Haunted Circus, a haunted attraction that has been rated as one of America’s top seven scariest haunted houses. This haunt is only open from September 15 through October 7, so be sure not to miss it.
Fall Pumpkin Traditions
If being scared isn’t for you, enjoy another fall tradition and check out Cornbelly’s Corn Maze & Pumpkin Festival at Thanksgiving Pointe. Open six days a week through November 4 there is so much to do for the whole family. Take your little ones to the Pumpkin Princess Playland and then take a pumpkin home to carve. This fall festival has been called Utah County’s favorite fall destination so be sure to make time to check it out.
The Best Produce Around
We are so lucky to be close to some of the best local produce in the state. There are several farmers markets to choose from that run through the fall that you’ll love to frequent for all of your baking and cooking needs. Every Saturday until October 28 you’ll find the Provo Farmers Market at Pioneer Park in Provo, and each Saturday until November 4 you can also stop by the Farmers Market on Main in Spanish Fork. At each you’ll find local produce, fresh bread, and hand-made arts and crafts. Wake up early to get the best choices before they’re gone.
Disappear into the Leaves
Nothing can beat a drive down a winding canyon road to enjoy the changing colors of fall. Roll your windows down and feel the breeze in your hair as you check out the scenery in Provo Canyon, The Alpine Loop, Trapper’s Loop, and Big Cottonwood Canyon. We think that the leaves happen to look their best behind the wheels of a new Lexus, but we might be a little biased.
Fall fun is always only minutes away when you live in Utah County. There is so much to do every day and we know you will love to immerse yourself fully in the beauty of fall before the first snow falls.
