Lexus Models That Come Equipped With All-Wheel Drive

If you live in a place that gets a lot of snow in the winter, an all-wheel drive vehicle might be the way to go. Living in Utah, many people spend a lot of time off-roading outdoors during the summer and driving through snow to ski or snowboard during the winter. That is why AWD is a priority feature most people in Utah look for when purchasing a new vehicle. If you’re looking for a reliable AWD vehicle, you’re in luck because Lexus has 10 models equipped with AWD. No matter if you’re looking for a sedan, SUV, or hybrid, Lexus has an AWD vehicle perfect for you. Here a few of the Lexus models that come equipped with AWD:

1.     Lexus RX 350 – The RX 350 has an advanced AWD system called Active Torque Control that works in conjunction with a high-speed interactive management system and Vehicle Stability Control to deliver unparalleled performance. The braking system features Anti-Lock Braking System (ABS), Electronic Brakeforce Distribution (EBD), and Brake Assist. If you’re looking for greater fuel economy, the RX hybrid model is also available with AWD.
2.     Lexus GX 460 – Along with AWD, the GX offers an array of innovative features to help keep you more aware of your surroundings. The available Pre-Collision System (PCS)* includes an available Driver Attention Monitor* that helps recognize the direction the driver's face is turned. If an object is detected ahead and the driver doesn't appear to be facing forward, the system can warn the driver. The lane departure alert system utilizes a high-resolution camera to monitor visible lane markings and determine the vehicle's position within a lane. The system attempts to alert the driver with audible and visual warnings and steering-wheel vibrations.
3.     Lexus IS 300 – If you’re not looking for an SUV or hybrid, the Lexus IS 300 sedan with AWD might be the perfect car for you. With an integrated suite of advanced safety systems, the Lexus Safety System+ is designed to help maintain safe distances between vehicles and alert you of potential collisions, under certain conditions. The High-Speed Dynamic Radar Cruise Control uses radar technology to sense the speed of the vehicle in front of you to help you maintain a preset following distance. If your Lexus gets too close to the vehicle ahead, the throttle is automatically reduced and the brakes are applied. As soon as the road ahead clears, your Lexus returns to its preset speed.

Important Things to Pack for The Perfect Summer Road Trip

Many of us have been on a road trip at least once in our life. Depending on many factors, we may have had good or bad trips. Trips are usually best when we are prepared; making sure we have everything that we need and making sure we know where we are going. A lot of the times during a trip we forget something or realize that certain things (if we had brought them) may have been handy. Here is a list of important items that will help you when planning your next road trip.

·      Emergency Kits: This includes anything you can think of for emergencies, including first aid kits and emergency items for your car. This could include jumper cables, flashlights, blankets, tools, and many other items. You can create your own car emergency kit or even buy premade kits from the store.
·      Car Documentation: Double check to make sure you have all your documentation for your car including registration, proof of insurance, and your driver’s license.
·      Medications: Don’t forget to pack any current medication or vitamins you need to take. You’ll have a first aid kit handy that might include: acetaminophen(Tylenol), ibuprofen (Advil), aspirin, antacids, and antihistamines.  But don’t forget the things that are not included in there.
·      Navigation: In this day in age, we all use GPS navigation on our phone. But we also need to take into consideration that some areas do not have signal or our phones might die. It’s important to make sure your phone is charged and you don’t forget your charger. Also, as a safety precaution download your directions so you can access it offline to make sure you know where you are going so you don’t get lost. Having a GPS other than your phone can also be extremely helpful and can decrease the risk of using up the data on your phone’s plan.
·      Sun Protection: You might forget this one, but protecting yourself from the sun during all months is very important. Make sure you have plenty of sunscreen to prevent a nasty burn, and sunglasses to ease the strain on your eyes while driving.
·      Snacks and Water: You can always stop at a gas station or grocery store, but having snacks pre-made will save you a pit-stop.

There are several other items that were not mentioned and are usually determined depending on what type of trip you’re taking and where you’re going. If there are any other important items you want to add, feel free to share your suggestions in the comments. As always, make sure your vehicle has been inspected before making any long drives. You can always count on us at Larry H. Miller Lexus Lindon to keep your car in tip-top shape. Schedule your inspection today!
